'Nother Owl
6x8 inches, oil on cotton canvas panel
Back when we made our living from pottery (in the 70's and 80's of the last century), among the big sellers were pictures, figurines, sculptures, photos... you name it of (a) owls and (b) mushrooms. I always threatened to make a figurine of a mushroom eating an owl, but I never followed through.
This is not that. But it is another owl to add to the art world.
This is a barred owl and I like its slightly worried expression, as though it's trying to turn left into Massachusetts traffic.
One of the many owls in the (surprisingly) extensive Sudbury, Massachusetts conservation lands.
